We are delighted to announce The Rebecca Clarke Project, featuring a new album set to be released in October 2025 by Brilliant Classics.
Rebecca Clarke, a British-born composer, lived between the 19th and 20th centuries. She was a renowned violist, a passionate advocate for chamber music, and an accomplished composer. The legendary pianist Arthur Rubinstein once referred to her as the “glorious Rebecca Clarke,” and during her lifetime, she enjoyed significant recognition. However, after World War II, her music was considered too tonal and fell into relative obscurity.
In the 1970s, with the rise of the feminist movement, there was a renewed interest in her work. Encouraged by her family in her later years, she began cataloging her compositions. Gramophone magazine has recognized her as one of the greatest female composers of all time.
We are honored to pay tribute to her extraordinary legacy with the upcoming album: REBECCA CLARKE.
Music is at the heart of the project, but fashion takes center stage in shaping its visual identity. We are thrilled to announce that the luxury brand Milijana Jankovich Copenhagen has joined the initiative, bringing her extraordinary and unique creations to life.
Each piece in this exclusive collection is one of a kind, incorporating vintage, hand-embroidered folk costumes from Eastern Serbia, dating back to the 1960s and 1970s. These garments are crafted using traditional techniques, preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The selected designs create a seamless dialogue between music and fashion, illustrating how folkloric traditions can be reimagined within a modern, contemporary aesthetic.
