I am truly excited to perform Beethoven 4th Piano Concerto with Louis Spohr Sinfonietta and Heinz Moser, conductor, this week.

This concerto is a quite atypical and enigmatic piece, deeply connected with the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, a well known ancient story, told by Ovidio in the Metamorphosis. Each movement of the concerto is connected to a moment of the myth, expressing in music the atmosphere and the “Stimmung” of it. The whole concerto sounds like an endless melody, sometimes imitating the baroque singers, some other times offering to the listeners the typical Beethoven’s style.
